My rating: 3 of 5 stars
If you’re looking for a suspenseful mystery novel, look somewhere else. This is a pleasant read, with your standard whodunit, and a little romance thrown in. It’s a pleasant enough book (and certainly well-written!) it is not worth staying up another hour to see who the killer is.
I am a fan of Charlaine Harris’s writing, having read all the Sookie Stackhouse novels, and the Harper Connelly series are some of my favorites. (I even got met Mrs. Harris when she was in Portland last month, and I was thrilled!) This was my first of the Aurora Teagarden series, and I’m not sure I’ll be reading the other. I simply didn’t find the characters or the story as interesting enough.
